Immigration fraud usually occurs when someone tries to enter the United States illegally through a forged passport. On example might be when someone overstays his or her visa in the United States but eventually leaves the country. Once out of the United States, a forged stamp is added to the passport to make it look like the person left on time. Forging part of a passport and then attempting to re-enter the United States is a federal crime.
